The 2005 Torresilos was sourced from 60- to 80-year-old vines and aged for 18 months in new French oak. Deep purple-colored, it has an expressive perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, espresso, mineral, blueberry, and blackberry. This is followed by a full-bodied, large-scaled wine with enough tannin to suggest that 8-10 years of cellaring is warranted. There are gobs of fruit for balance but this is a wine that will require patience. Drink it from 2015 to 2035.
