The 2008 Barolo Giachini opens with freshly cut flowers, red berries, spices and mint. This is a delicate, refined expression of Giachini. Layers of bright red fruit flesh out beautifully on the finish. The elegance of the year comes through very nicely. Grasso’s Giachini is one of the most Pinot-like Barolos out there. The 2008 is gorgeous. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026.
The Grasso Baroli have always been delicious, but over the last 2-3 vintages quality seems to have taken a major jump up, which is great news for lovers of these wines.
