Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Les Grandes Murailles showed so well out of barrel and it fulfills that promise now ten years on with a comely bouquet, gently wafting with cranberry and wild strawberry scents, vanilla pod and just a hint of undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, fully mature and quite earthy, almost Burgundy-like, although the tobacco and singed leather note betrays its origin on the finish. This is well worth seeking out. Tasted January 2016.
