The 1966 is an atypically ripe, rich, dense wine that, in style, seems an anomaly in this vintage that produced lean, elegant, restrained wines. Still quite dark in color with an orange rim, the wine has a bouquet of ripe, deep fruit and oak, as well as a tarry, truffle-scented aroma.
