The masculine, powerful 2003 Barbaresco Bric Ronchi presents a dark color as well as a rich and varied array of ripe fruit, tar, licorice and sweet toasted oak flavors. Although this full-throttle Barbaresco displays great concentration as well as length, even those admirable qualities can’t completely balance the hard tannins that are present. This should be accessible earlier than the Loreto but owing to its generous fruit it should drink well to at least age 12 perhaps longer. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2015.
