Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Shiraz St Jakobi was aged 20 months in 80% French and 20% American oak hogsheads. It opens with lovely warm blueberry and aniseed notes laced with coffee, Indian spices, tree bark and lavender. Big, full-bodied and rich, it retains crisp acidity, a medium-firm level of rounded tannins before finishing opulent and long. Approachable now, drink it to 2022+.
