Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Shiraz St Jakobi gives an earthy nose of fertile loam, tree bark and dried leaves over a core of baked blackberries and preserved plums with a touch of licorice. Full-bodied with tons of black fruit preserves and earthy flavors, the muscular fruit has a great foundation of firm, chewy tannins and just enough acidity, finishing with very good length.
