Very deep garnet-purple colored, Dutschke’s 2008 St. Jakobi Shiraz gives fragrant, intense warm blackberry and black cherry conserve aromas with some floral notes of violets and lavender plus baking spices and a whiff of dusty soil. Very full bodied and concentrated, it has a good backbone of high acidity and medium to firm finely grained tannins. The finish is long and harmonious. Approachable now, it should continue to drink to 2016+.
