The 2005 Shiraz “St. Jakobi” is sourced from a single vineyard. It was aged in a mix of French and American oak for 20 months. Purple-colored, it exhibits a bouquet of cedar, wood smoke, tar, blueberry, and blackberry. On the palate it is full-bodied and multi-dimensional, with complex flavors, good depth, and a long finish. Give it 2-3 years of additional bottle age and drink it through 2020.
