Notes of sweet berries, plums and warm spices introduce the 2019 Volnay Les Aussy, a medium-bodied, lively wine with tangy acids and powdery tannins. Like many of these 2019s, I suspect it's a little shy after its recent bottling.

The 2009 Volnay Les Aussy captures the style of the year in its flashy, super-ripe dark red fruit and volume. The style is decidedly opulent, but there is more than enough minerality to give the wine an element of freshness and length. This is from the villages portion of the vineyard.
