The spicy 2015 Cirerets is a blend of 60% Cari?ena from a vineyard planted in 1962 (Finca La Veana) and 40% younger Garnacha from the Cirerets vineyard planted in 2002, both in La Vilella Alta, organically farmed and converted to biodynamics in 2016. The grapes fermented separately in concrete vats with selected yeasts, with 33% full clusters of Cari?ena and 66% of Garnacha. The wines aged separately for some 16 months, with the Garnacha in used barrels and the Cari?ena in new ones. It's ripe but balanced, textured and with ripe tannins, with the roundness of 2015. Great! 5,927 bottles were filled in July 2017.
