A somewhat insipid wine for such a great property, this rather dull, straightforward wine exhibits a medium ruby/garnet color with considerable amber at the edge. The nose offers an earthiness intermixed with dried herbs, vanilla, and some plum/cherry fruit. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied but somewhat diluted. (Its defenders would call it elegant, I’m sure.) It is fully mature, with very little tannin or acidity. Drink up. Last tasted, 11/02.
