The 2005 Les Eres Vinyes Velles is 55% Carinena old vines, 30% Garnacha old vines, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 18 months in new French oak. Opaque purple/black in color, it has a superb bouquet of crushed stone, pain grille, lavender, incense, black cherry, and blueberry. Opulent in the mouth, it is rounder, richer, and more complex than the Sentius cuvee. It will continue to blossom with another 4-6 years of bottle age and be at its best from 2014 to 2025.
