The very good, soft 1996 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvee Louis Belle (a selection from the oldest vines that was aged 12 months in barrique, of which 30% were new) reveals spicy oak, no evidence of herbaceousness, and toasty pain grille notes to support its moderately rich red currant/black cherry flavors. Drink this medium-bodied, smoky Crozes-Hermitage over the next 4-5 years. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
