The 1995 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvee Louis Belle reveals a sweet fruitcake/incense/black fruit-scented nose. Smoke and pepper characteristics are meshed with this wine's spice-driven aromatics. Medium to full-bodied, with excellent extraction, fine overall balance, and a sweet, medium-bodied finish, this attractively made Crozes-Hermitage should drink well during its first 8-10 years of life.
To my taste, Belle's wines continue to exhibit improvement, taking on more complexity and richness with each high quality vintage.
