The 2016 Coniale is a celebrated expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Castellina in Chianti, one of the most picturesque corners of Tuscany, with long vineyard slopes that face a setting sun. This is a solid wine that offers a mid to full-bodied approach that is ultimately more graceful and streamlined than you might initially expect, especially given the darkness of the wine’s appearance and its natural concentration. That’s one of the lasting takeaways from the 2016 growing season. The wines from this vintage tend to be linear and powerful, but they also show fine elegance. Here we have a relatively small production of 2,422 bottles.
