The 2012 Coniale is one of the stars of this warm vintage. The wine represents a pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon made at the highest standards in reduced quantities. Only 2,600 bottles were produced. It tastes young in its current form. It represents a work in progress that requires a few more years of bottle aging to find solid footing. The wine is astringent and tight with dark blackberry flavors infused with spice, leather, tar and tobacco. Coniale should hold steady for the better part of two decades.
