The 2007 Barbaresco Coparossa is a more explosive, full-bodied wine than the straight bottling, but some of the richness seems to have been achieved with a slight touch of freshness. No matter, this is a fabulous, fruit-driven Barbaresco loaded with juicy red cherries, kirsch, spices and French oak, all of which come together in a sensual, generous voluptuous style. This, too, is a gem from Bruno Rocca. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. Bruno Rocca’s 2007 Barbareschi are among the stars of the vintage. Rich, dense and chewy, boasting ample tannins fleshed out by the cherry, raspberry and spice flavors. There's a gracefulness to this, and I like its bright, pure notes.
