The 2008 Barbaresco Fausoni opens with sweet roses and spices before it blossoms on the palate. This deceptively mid-weight Barbaresco is the most gracious of Sottimano’s 2008s, but don’t be fooled, there is plenty of fruit and structure in the glass. This is a gorgeous, classy wine from Sottimano. Sweet tobacco, cedar and herbs are some of the notes that wrap around the harmonious finish. This is a feminine, delicate Barbaresco from Sottimano. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. This is a stunning set of wines from the Sottimano family. The 2008 Barbareschi are among the wines of the vintage and are not to be missed.
