The entry level Hermitage is the 2013 Hermitage des Miaux, which is a blend of two separate parcels that’s aged 12 months in a tiny percentage of new oak. It has lots of jammy blackberry, currants, licorice and crushed rock/burning embers, yet picks up more and more violet characteristics with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, nicely textured and moderately structured, it’s a classic, workhorse effort to enjoy anytime over the coming decade.
