Vincent Bitouzet produces a wide range of Volnays, all of them faithfully representing their respective terroirs. The ruby-colored Volnay Clos Des Chenes reveals enticing earthy, spicy, cherry and herbal aromatics. A crisp, powerful, medium-to-full bodied wine, it has a deeply concentrated palate with boysenberry and currant flavors. Its tannins are slightly hard so I recommend drinking it between 2001-2005.
