Made from 70-110 year old vines, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des Vieilles Vignes is composed of 70% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. Revealing lovely framboise and berry fruit intermixed with hints of licorice, garrigue and spice box, it is a delicious, forward, plump wine to enjoy over the next decade. During the last year, proprietor Luc Perrin passed away from cancer at the young age of 45 years and his sister, Véronique, and other family members are carrying on the traditions at this estate. It was founded in 1969, and encompasses just over 42 acres.Various American importers, including: T. Edward Wines Ltd., New York, NY; tel. (212) 233-1504; Ideal Wines & Spirits, Medford, MA; tel.
