The Piazzo Comm. Armando 2016 Barolo shows great depth with dark aromas of forest fruit, wild plum and blackberry. This wine offers a classic and statuesque interpretation of Nebbiolo with plenty of dark fruit surrounded by aniseed, licorice, smoke and tar. This is a mid-weight wine that is silky and glossy on the finish. It would make a nice pairing to a pasta dish that features wild porcini mushrooms. Some 15,000 bottles were released.
