The 2009 Barolo shows dark and austere tones with finely etched mineral notes of crushed granite and brimstone at the back. Other aromas include dried berry, tar, exotic spice and sweet hazelnut on the close. This is a nice effort for a base Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2022.
