This wine opens to a lean ruby color with pretty raspberry highlights. The 2014 Brunello di Montalcino shows great color for the vintage. The bouquet is slightly weighed down by pungent tones (I suspect there could be a hint of volatile acidity) with dried cherry skin and wild strawberry. As the wine warms in the glass and takes on more oxygen, it shows savory leather and tobacco. Some 20,000 bottles were produced.

Dark flavors of black cherry and blackberry are equally matched by dry, dusty tannins in this lush version. Stays bright and focused, picking up an earthy accent on the lingering aftertaste.
