Schiopetto’s 2007 Friulano is a rich, full-bodied white with ripe, honeyed fruit. It offers excellent depth yet the wine comes across as slightly heavy-handed as the aromatics aren’t fully developed, something that affects quite a few wines in this difficult vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009.
The 2007 vintage was challenging for whites as the warm growing season hindered the development of aromatics in many varieties, leaving quite a few wines with a feeling of heaviness, as these bottlings attest.
