The 1996 Tocai Friulano is a cleanly made, medium-bodied, dry, tangy white with notes of tangerines, almonds, and apples in its aromatic and flavor profiles. Pure, with excellent fruit intensity, a seductive, perfumed style, and considerable elegance, it will provide lovely drinking over the next 1-2 years.
One of the reference point wineries for dry, crisp, stainless steel-fermented and aged Italian white wines, Schiopetto's 1996s are very fine efforts. I can hardly wait for Schiopetto's 1997s!
