Only the second vintage for this blend, the 2017 Shiraz Cabernet is a 60-40 blend, aged predominantly in second use barrels. Peppermint sprigs and black peppercorns accent mulberry fruit in this medium to full-bodied wine. It's perfumed, herbal and even a bit medicinal in tone, yet in an attractive way, like a decent Italian amaro. The tannins are ripe and velvety, while the wine finishes savory and long.

A savory accent weaves in and out among the juicy notes of raspberry preserves and plum, showing cedary overtones and a dash of cigar box on the finish, with firming tannins. Shiraz and Cabernet.
