Not nearly as powerful, rich, or potentially long-lived as Graillot's magnificent 1990s, the 1991 Crozes-Hermitage-La Guiraude (Graillot's top cuvee) exhibits more density and toasty vanillin from being aged in new oak barrels, as well as a medium-bodied, moderately tannic, more concentrated palate. Although soft enough to be drunk now, it possesses the potential to last for 8-10 years. It is a soft, fashionably elegant wine with fine richness and depth.
