Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which was bottled under DIAM, has an attractive nose with dried honey, grapefruit and beeswax aromas, though it seems to lose some of its definition in the glass. The palate is ripe and honeyed on the entry, waxy in texture and quite spicy, though what it lacks is precision and complexity on its rather predictable finish. This just falls short of my expectations from barrel. Tasted May 2016.
