The 1974 Corton-Charlemagne is showing splendidly. It has a beautiful, refined bouquet with scents of apple blossom, beeswax, wild honey and a touch of dried pineapple. It unfurls beautifully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, brilliantly focused entry. It is more feminine and delicate than the 1978, yet it is more refined and poised toward the finish, with hints of white pepper lingering on the aftertaste. Outstanding. Tasted December 2012.
