Last Tasted 6/92
Two bottles tasted of the 1985 Chevillon Les Vaucrains were totally different. The second bottle was opened only because the first one appeared to have a nearly sterile nose, shallow flavor depth, and a spicy, hard, tannic finish. The second bottle was much sweeter, with jammier fruit, as well as a better mid-palate and length. It was a totally different wine. Remarkably, both wines came from the same case. It is hard to know what could account for such major bottle variation.
