The 2006 Venus la Universal is a blend of Carinena and Syrah aged in 20% new French oak for 18 months. It offers up an already complex bouquet of mineral, scorched earth, spices box, black cherry, and blackberry. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with excellent volume. Forward and flavorful but in need of a bit more stuffing, this ripe and savory offering can be enjoyed now and over the next 6-8 years.
