The 1990 Volnay-Clos du Chateau des Ducs reveals a splendidly saturated dark ruby/purple color, a huge nose of vividly pure black and red fruits, medium to full body, superb concentration, soft tannins, and a super finish. It manages to combine exquisite richness and finesse with considerable flavor authority - not an easy marriage to achieve. It should drink well for at least 10-15 years.
