The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna delle Raunate is a surprising achievement. This was not an easy vintage for many, but Mocali has hit the nail straight on the head. The wine shows balance and proportion with fine layers of red cherry fruit, cassis, balsam herb and pressed violets. All of those aromas are beautiful characteristics of Sangiovese from this part of southern Tuscany. This is an impressive effort.
