Tasted at the vertical retrospective at the property. The 2013 Chateau Dauzac, a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, which had been bottled one week before my visit in June 2015, has a light, clean bouquet with blackberry, maraschino and violet scents. The palate is pinched on the entry with rather coarse tannin vis-a-vis the 2011 and 2012, missing some fruit on the mid-palate. The finish feels foursquare and rather dry. Like many Margaux 2013s, it falls short of expectation compared to recent vintages. Tasted June 2015.
