It is good to see Louis Martini turn in three fine efforts. As for the two red wines, these are two of the better efforts I have recently tasted from Louis Martini. The 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard is marked by black cassis, truffles, wood, and earth. The color is a more saturated ruby/purple than the 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and the texture is more expansive, but the wine is also more tannic and backward. It is a promising, rich, well-built Cabernet for drinking over the next 12-15 years.
