A dark ruby/garnet color with no amber is promising, but a lack of aromatics and a lean, tart, spicy, shrill personality make for an unenjoyable beverage. Once more, extremely high acidity results in an aggressive, astringent, sour tasting wine.The tasting notes for this section are from two single blind tastings, one conducted in May, 1996, in California, and the other in June, 1996, in Baltimore.
