Renato Vacca's 2013 Barbera d'Alba is aged 14 months in oak for a generous and shapely style. The wine is darkly extracted and very rich both in terms of color and appearance. Dark berry, blackcurrant, coffee, espresso bean and spice are well fused. It shows a clean and controlled personality with evident oak tones that have been used to soften some of the grape's excessive acidity.
