The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape blanc, which is made two-thirds from Grenache blanc, 20% Roussanne, and the rest Clairette and Bourboulenc aged in tank, displays wonderful quince, tangerine, white currant and grape notes in a medium to full-bodied style. It is meant to be drunk in its first year of life.
This chateau, owned by the quality conscious Brechet family, sits just to the south of Rayas. A large estate of over 175 acres, Vaudieu made only one cuvee in 2009, but three in 2010, include a new offering, the Admiral G.
