The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is a beauty and is comprised of 79% Grenache Blanc and the balance Roussanne, aged nine months mostly in barrel (some new). It offers up a gorgeous array of lime, green fruits, citrus and ample minerality as well as medium-bodied richness, integrated acidity and tinges of nuttiness on the finish. Showing no honeyed or buttery nuances at all, it’s all about pure, juicy fruit. Enjoy it over the coming decade.
Covering 70 hectares, mostly in the center of the appellation, Chateau Vaudieu produced a beautiful red and white in 2004. It’s worth noting that this estate brought Philippe Cambie on board as a consultant in 2003.
