The Volnay Taillepieds, usually the top wine of Bitouzet, has some solid cherry fruit, is spicy, medium bodied, and should age well until 1992-1993. Vincent Bitouzet, one of only a handful of producers who seem equally adroit making red and white burgundy, has not done well in 1986. For whatever reason (probably the enormous crop size), the wines have turned out light and diluted, in shocking contrast to his smashing 1985s.
