The 1997 Barolo is an impressive generic effort whose fruit all came from the Bricco Boschis. A dense dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by a surprisingly high-toned, well-delineated wine. Notes of black cherries and blackberries are intertwined with minerals, wet stones, rose petals, and spice. Rich and full-bodied, with fine acidity, this classic, potentially long-lived Barolo should be at its finest between 2003-2018.
