The 2014 Brunello di Montalcino reveals a pointed and sharply contoured bouquet with delineated aromas of black plum, dried cherry skin, tobacco and Spanish cedar wood. Those aromas are present with immediate indirect intensity (with what may be a mild touch of volatile acidity to give it strength and momentum). The wine's appearance is inky dark and enriched, but the mid-weight mouthfeel is lean and not very long. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
