Poggio Nardone's interpretation of the vintage shows dark lines and pretty elegance. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino offers intense aromas of dried cherry, blackberry confit, spice, leather, tar and licorice. These aromas are presented in a clear and forthcoming manner that highlights the best of Sangiovese Grosso. It ages in large oak casks for three years. There is some astringency in terms of mouthfeel but the wine is also extremely young. Give it a few more years to flesh out.
