Richter’s 2004 Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese smells of ripe peach and nectarine, comes onto the palate with richness but also with considerable brightness and cut as well as nutty, wet stone depth. Fascinating notes of lees and cask add complexity. The finish is decisively slate-y, nutty, and full of luscious ripe fruit. This excellent value Spatlese should keep well for two decades.
