The 1999 Barolo Sarmassa is intense, warm and alcoholic in aromatic impact, with penetrating sensations of tobacco, asphalt, and chocolate. The wine is long, concentrated, and powerful in the mouth, but with a slight roughness of tannins and hardness of texture.
