The 2016 Branco is a blend of Rabigato 45%, Gouveio 40% and Viosinho 15%. Just a tiny part (10%) of the juice saw some wood (for six weeks). This is lighter styled but persistent. It has an appealingly fresh feel. With just a bit of green, it ends with some herbs on the finish while always seeming rather enlivening. Reasonably solid in the mid-palate for this level, this should drink well for the next five years or so, maybe more. In good vintages, they surprisingly age for a decade or so. That's not necessarily its highest and best use, to be sure, but there is no rush.
