A wine I reviewed last year, the 2013 Gigondas Confidentiel shows a similar leafy herbs, damp earth characteristic to go with plenty of currant, underbrush and spice on the nose. It’s medium to full-bodied, has solid texture and a fresh, balanced style that should evolve nicely through 2023.

Gently mulled cherry, plum and blackberry fruit flavors mingle with a smoldering tobacco hint. A light licorice-root edge holds the finish, which fleshes out nicely in the glass. Drink now through 2022. 375 cases made, 10 cases imported.??–JM??Region: France / Southern Rh?ne / Gigondas Select to Add
