Produced with grapes from ancient vines purchased from growers that have worked with them since the beginning, the 2013 Idus is mostly Cari?ena with 15% Garnacha and 5% Merlot. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts after a three-day cold soak with punching downs daily, remontage every two days for some 14-18 days and a post fermentative maceration of 15 days. The wine matured in oak barrels for 14 months, and 35% of the barrels were new. It had a combination of floral and berry aromas with nice spices, quite aromatic, with perfectly ripe fruit. The palate shows abundant, fine-grained tannins and good freshness. Much cleaner and more focused than the 2012. 3,706 bottles were filled in June 2015.
